We’re In Search Of An IT Dispatch Specialist
No one likes job hunting. It’s tedious, stressful, and often unengaging. Every job posting you see is just a list of duties and requirements. You rarely get a sense of the culture at the business you’re considering working for.
That’s why Tech Support of Minnesota does things a little differently. We understand what really matters in business, and IT in particular – the people.
At the root and core of the IT industry (and the industries of its clients) are people. Users trying to get work done on time. Users looking for a way to work from home with ease. Users that want their IT support to pick up the phone when they call.
While fancy new technology is all well and good, it’s only worth it if it meets the user’s needs and improves their experience.
Bottom line: the user experience is the single measurement for the quality of any given solution or service – and that depends entirely on the capabilities and skillsets of those ensuring the technology is operating properly.
That’s why, in our recruitment process, we focus as much as possible on promoting our user-centric culture, and showing you what your potential new job with Tech Support of Minnesota will really be like.
What Does It Mean To Be An IT Dispatch Specialist?
As Tech Support of Minnesota’s IT Dispatch Specialist, you’re the center of our network of technicians that work directly with clients. While the technicians deliver in the person experience and fix the clients’ problems directly, you are often the first point of contact for those clients.
That’s why it’s your responsibility to make sure these clients feel heard, attended to and understood. You have to be able to impart that they are valued and that you’re scheduling their technician to come to address their concerns as quickly as possible.
As much as this job will be about multi-tasking, resource management, and organizational skills, at its core it is a customer service position. A successful candidate will be able to understand and address client concerns directly over the phone, long before a technician may be available to visit that client and address their issue. If you want to excel in this position, communication skills are a must.
Now that we’ve taken the time to explain the core culture of the IT Dispatch Specialist position, we now have to cover the more boring stuff, such as the requirements:
- Requires graduation from high school or equivalent.
- Strong analytical and reasoning abilities.
- High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with normal activities.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Strong communication/command of the English language, active listening, customer care
- Ability to use a computer and all general office equipment.
